A bit more then a week ago a friend told me about her Massage Therapist and his amazing unconventional massages. He does a combo of Swedish and Tantric massage giving a thurough but tantalizing massage. She perked my curiousity and I booked a session. She was right he was AMAZING! The massage was the best ever (and I get massages at least twice a week) He was polite and professional he worked very deep but without hurting me ( I hate a fluffy massage almost as much as I hate going ouch and being told that its good for me) his energy was incredible and throughout the session he alternated from extremly light almost tickling to extremly deep (but not jabbing or painful) and always keeping the touch sensual and semi erotic. I never knew my whole body was an erogonous zone. Towards the end I couldnt take it anymore and I put his hand were I really wanted it....
When I stopped shaking I relized he was hugging me all tender and understanding.
All in all it was a extremely powerful emotional and sensual experience, that left me floating for a week.
The reason I am asking if I am insane is I have already booked my next massage.

Tina - sounds a bit odd, but I think it's great! I've never been to someone like this, however one of my dear good friend's roomamate is a Tantric teacher, who sort of works along the same lines. The feedback from her clients has been overwhelmingly terrific! She laughs about it, and calls her work "Tickling the Kundalini."

To answer your question: this kind of practice is slightly outside of conventional social norms, but completely awesome for anyone with any meditation/yoga/buddhist tendencies. If this teaches you anything about Tantra, you'll be in great shape!

Sounds like (complicit) sexual abuse.

Diana - from a laymen's viewpoint, I guess you can almost look at that as prostitution [the masseuse of course] , but not AT ALL sexual abuse [unless I am unclear about who is abusing whom]. It's difficult to find mass acceptance of alternative healing and relaxation therapies, which seems to be why Tina is even asking this question. Tantra in particular is great for some people - it can literally re-invigirate and revive people who have otherwise become listless and energy-drained.

I'm not saying that it's for everyone, but I hope that we can all be open-minded enough to withhold judgement, and maybe go so far as to learn more [even if it is to confirm that this is definitely not the thing for you!]

I see nothing wrong with feeling good, and clearly there was no abuse involved, since you yourself prompted the happy ending.

Personally, I'm concerned that a woman would invite a strange man into her apartment, especially for such an intimate session, with you in such a vulnerable position. It sounds like an episode of  "Law & Order" waiting to happen.

Diana I definitely disagree though I am not sure Who you are suggesting abused who?
Liz and GG I met Mark through a warm referral from a close friend who know a couple other people that have seen Mark, Also not being completely naive I made sure my neighbor was in the apt when m arrived and that it was clear that she was waiting for me next door.
I have to admit this has been a confusing experience for me and it took me until after the second session to fully realize what a powerful medium touch is. During the second session I laughed and I cried and I felt quite liberated emotionally. Though both times I saw Mark it was an extremely sensual experience it was much more of an emotional one. I definitely categorize the experience as a sensual and not a sexual one.
Though M and I spoke very little before the session, there was an amazing sense of safety and comfort relayed through his touch and a unique feeling of familiarity created completely through touch. I found the whole experience to be exhilarating and therapeutic on many different levels. The emotional release and relief that I experienced after climaxing was NOT like anything I have experienced in my relationships with men or women and I do not consider it "sex" per say. I definitely would not consider what mark did prostitution.
Again I want to thank you all there is something wonderful about this medium of debate.

An experience so intensely satisfying on that many different levels is rare. I think you should enjoy it without question.

hi, I would experience the wonder of a massage like this and wonder if you would not mind passing along the referral.  Does anyone have any information to pass along about this?
I know this was a couple of months back but any information would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, Tina, call me cynical, but I couldn't help noticing that you haven't written a single review (your page is dated January 2006), you don't have any Yelp friends, and this titillating talk thread seems to be your first communication.  Why would you ask such personal advice of people you've had no knowledge of about a situation that you, yourself, label as a "Walk on the Wild Side"?  Unless, of course, it never happened.  I just can't help being a tad suspicious.

seconding Arlyne B.'s suspicions, sounds like the first couple of paragraphs of one of those Penthouse Forum 'letters'

I was merely commenting on a thread I read from a few months ago.  I myself am a new member and I did not start the thread.  Merely trying to see if the thread starter would respond.  Yes maybe I am beating a dead horse but if I do not try then will I ever get a response.  I am Judy W if you read the post correctly, not Tina.  If you also read my last sentence you will see I mentioned that this thread was started a few months ago.  I am new here and if I did something wrong then I apologize .

judy, nothing wrong was done by you here. I think the comment was made towards the originator. There are a few threads started by people that are not looking forward to actually yelp but to either promote "services" or to just get plain opinions. So, yelp to your hearts content! If i knew more about the subject, i would post it.. hey, i would look for it myself but i let my gf take care of those massages ;-)
