Small, cozy, excellent music, great selection of of wine, cheese and fruit.  The girls next to us looked like it was a little bit too good, if you know what I mean.....

selection of desserts and cookies which were good and fresh and displayed by the counter.  It is hard to find good Italian pastries today, but these pretty much answer that.  They have seating outside...

tender and in a great sauce. I was not interested in the whipped potatoes, but the selection of salsify, carrots, and mushrooms (roasted) was very good. My entree was the lemon and tomato risotto...

back (mind you, i still have to go back to work).  the treats look so good..i ordered 4 brownies (for myself and my coworkers) and 1 caramel sandwich.  sacrificed having a real lunch for dessert...

Good Value

and with a box of four more. The good news, they preserved quite well. Several days later when I got home they were still pretty fresh....

a great start, but the molten center was a little too Hershey's chocolate syrup for my tastes. He agreed. So, I got to finish his Creme Brulee to clean to chocolate overload from my mouth.  Overall, good...

though not for those that want a dessert that also presents a good value.  Speaking of value, it is unlikely that visitors from outside this Tribeca neighborhood would be thrilled paying $1.25...

and them telling us the right direction across the street.   all in all, a good place to pop your fondue cherry...and dip it into chocolate p'haps....

are excellent and worth a stop on their own. I consider Payard a good value for your dollar. I had good table service, a pleasant waiter, the facilities clean in what was a bank at one time, the food...
