Chop is clean, hip and a great place to have your hair cut and styled.
I used to have my haircut at Chop for years until my favorite hairstylist quit and moved elsewhere.

I LOVE MY NEW HAIRCUT. I was sad at first, to see my long hair cut off nearly 5 inches or so, but my experience at CHOP salon was sooo awesome. I used to go there, when they first opened, but my stylist had moved away and I've since been wandering between salons. I'm not big into hair maintenance...well, except for products...but I've religiously turned towards Phyto products (Sephora), which I cannot live without.
On the advice of a friend, I decided to go back to CHOP. She had recently gotten the cutest haircut from Jennifer S....and so I called to ask for her too. Jennifer is extremely personable and very easy to talk to. I told her what I had in mind...and she quickly went to work. I love what she did to it, and I'd recommend her services to anyone. I think my haircut was well under $50...and I'd definitely have paid more for Jennifer's services.

I got a haircut today from a different stylist today, Jennifer Serizawa. She's awesome! =) Chatty, friendly, and funny!
I brought in a few pictures to show her what I was hoping for and she made the necessary adjustments according to my hair type in order to achieve the look I wanted. I think it helped that she also had thick hair like me and understood what some of my concerns were. =)
I've uploaded pics of my new haircut, if you want to see Jennifer's work!
If I could only say one thing about this salon to other people, it would be, 'Don't let this salon intimidate you.' Honestly, before I came here, I assumed that it would be super expensive because it looked 'trendy'. Haircuts start at around $40 (depending on the level of the stylist) and this includes a wash, blowdry, and style. And free validated parking! We were there for close to 3 hours today and would have spent $9 for parking. $40 haircut - $9 parking = fabulous haircut at a steal!!

I went to CHOP with almost 3 years of hair that hadn't been cut, trimmed, or pampered. Scary, isn't… Read more »
Fabulous......Chop is streamlined and super friendly. The receptionists were friendly and outgoing...offering coffee or tea right when we walked in. My stylist Jennifer came over and let me know she was running a little long but I didn't mind at all because my hair came out came out great!!! She was extremely friendly and we didn't lack in conversation. I def recommend going here and asking for Jen!!!
I had my first Chop experience recently and LOVE my new haircut! I had really long hair and wanted some style to it, but also wanted to keep the length. Romeo did just that for me and I'll most definitely go back to him when it's time for the next haircut. From a professional aspect, he's totally open to cutting hair the way you want it cut but also gives you his take on what would make it look nice. He's really personable, easy to talk to, and fun. Definitely check out Romeo if you're looking for a great hairstylist.
I really love my new haircut. DEVY BARNES at Chop did my hair and I am super pleased. It is without a doubt the best haircut I've ever had and surprisingly not nearly the most expensive. I have curly thick hair, not the easiest to cut, but Devy did an outstanding job. It doesn't even look like my hair. I was impressed with how Devy listened to the concerns I had about previous hair cuts. While she did ask questions about what I wanted, she also shared her expertise and ideas with me. Perfect combination. I live out of state, but I have the opportunity to travel to Hawaii often. I will be sure to schedule an appointment any time I'm in town.
The cute and clever logo caught my eye and I thought, "such great design must mean a well-run business!" The Chinese may "chop" but Hana cuts and colors with care and consideration. The staff is very friendly and I would like to see this salon stick around for a very long time. It seems whenever I get comfortable in a place they go out of business.
Go to Chop! chop chop!

Will never go to another place again! Got my haircut and I love it. I haven't said that in about 5 years! I saw Romeo who is fun, great looking, and most of all knows what hes doing. He asked what I wanted and my hair looks better than I could have imagined. My husband even said that it was the best haircut I ever got, which is amazing! I woke up this morning and my hair looked great, didn't have to put anything in it, or style it. I love it, especially having two kids I don't have the time to style it. I went to Supercuts about 6 months ago and they butchered my hair, now it looks "hot' as Romeo would say. Thanks Romeo and Chop! Will never go to a "cheap" place again. Chop is the place to get a stylish beautiful haircut! I would recommend Romeo to anyone.
I work downtown so I was looking for a place within walking distance. Chop had great reviews, so I booked an appointment.
The salon is a cute, modern space with high ceilings. When I arrived at the salon (on the mauka side of Restaurant Row) I was seen right away. Romeo is great. He's young and fun and very easy to talk to. We started off with a talk about what I was looking for. I needed a haircut that was pretty and professional that I could put up into a pony tail when I run. I also wanted some extra body and some side-swept bangs that were not too short. My hair was really, really pretty when he was done blowing it out. Romeo had taken care of all my requests without sacrificing any style. My hair feels really nice and was easy to do the next day.
The whole staff was very friendly and I liked that they broke down how much everything cost (I got some product), whereas some places just give you a total. My haircut was only $50. I will definitely go back.

I am glad I went to CHOP versus another salon. I wanted a good haircut and color too. They paid great attention to what I wanted and provided excellent service. I like the location...plenty of parking in the garage and easily accessible. I look forward to my next visit there.
I only get my hair styled, cut, and coloured by Jennifer Serizawa.
Whether long or short, whether by her suggestion or mine, it always come out very trendy and precise.
Why it is so inexpensive is beyond me. Why take a chance and get butchered, pay the $40 and wait for the compliments.
Plus, Jen is super cute!
I went to Chop several years ago and they did a awesome job. My hair was all messed up from some hair salon in Japan. My hair was that awful orange color that you see most young Japanese tourists sporting. Not good... Anyhow, they did a great job fixing it and the service was wonderful.Unfortunately, I don't remember the ppl who cut and colored my hair. It was on the pricey side ,but it was worth every pretty penny.

CHOP is located down stairs from my office. What a HUGE convenience for a busy mom of 3 children. Never having spare time for myself, it's an ideal location for me to get my hair cut during my lunch breaks. A coworker had referred me to DEVY BARNES. I was in dire need of new hair style and was ready for change. I had an idea of what I wanted, but I didn't really know exactly what I wanted. I pretty much left the fate of my new hair style in her hands. DEVY is AMAZING! In fact that is an understatement. Not knowing what to expect, I was thoroughly pleased with what I ended up with. My new hair style is just perfect! It is exactly what I wanted. It suits my busy lifestyle perfectly. She was able to bring to reality what I could only imagine. That's how good she is. It's been a couple of months now and people still compliment my new "DO." Devy has been instrumental on the maintenance of my hair, suggesting new things each time. Who though having short hair could be so much fun?!At this point I'm totally loving each visit because I feel like I have a new style everytime I walk out of there. I'm pushing 40 years old and I've had my share of bad hair do's. DEVY is the best And come on now, we all know how beautiful a fresh hair cut makes us feel! Does the phrase "Super Star" sound familiar?! My latest craze is red low lights under my jet black hair. I have Nick to thank for adding some attitude to my already sassy hair style. THANK YOU, DEVY, for making me a "HIP" mom! I've recommended you to all of my family and friends.

Really happy with this salon and with Hana in particular. It's been a couple years since I've gone to someone who just "got" it immediately. Hana is very friendly and does a great job, and the salon is conveniently located at Restaurant Row and has a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!

i am ridiculously picky when it comes to my hair (i.e. if i don't like the cut, you will never see me again). the last time i cut my hair was over a year ago from the last haircut disaster, so after reading all of the glowing reviews here i decided to give CHOP a try. and am i glad i did! i made my appointment with JULIE and she is incredible. from shampoo (with neck massage) to cut to style she did an amazing job and gave me the first hair cut i've loved in years. i will definitely be a repeat customer.
Most of my friends come to CHOP for their haircuts/coloring. They recommended this place when I first moved here. There is a reason why. This salon is awesome! I don't trust salons where the hairdresser has horrible looking hair(is it just me, or does everyone encounter this?!? Sometimes I feel like Cruella DeVille is about to cut my hair). Anyway, that is not the case with this salon. The staff all have their own unique, funky style with great heads of hair, so of course I'm more inclined to trust their opinion. Call me superficial, but it's how I feel. Ask for Kihan! He is one of the co-owners, along with another guy named Richie. They are both awesome, but my heart belongs to Kihan. I love that man! Yes, the haircuts are expensive, but these guys know what they are doing. I've gotten the $40-$50 haircuts and learned my lesson the hard way. I should have just stuck with CHOP. This salon will literally give you a 5 year plan for your hair! If you stick with their recommendations, you will have hair good enough for a Pantene commercial. CHOP does not try to push any products on you, just honest to goodness advice. The shampooers give great great scalp massages(no that's not the reason I go, but it's a nice bonus!) Getting a quick appointment is relatively easy. Kihan is quick...very efficient! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. CHOP also validates for free Restaurant Row parking. All this talk about Chop reminds me....I need to get my bands trimmed (That's free in between appointments: ). You really get what you paid for, so if $100 for a fab haircut is too much, then stick with Fantastic Sam's. I'll just say I told you later.

I came here to have my haircut fixed from my most recent disaster and it was like I didn't even have to speak. I don't think my hair looked that bad but I barely got anything out and Cathy Oh knew what I wanted. She showed me what should have been done with my hair and proceeded to fix it as best she could without sacrificing more length. She hardly talked while cutting my hair, she was fast, and she razor cut it to get texture. I love it. I will definitely be going back.

I've been all over looking for a stylist I clicked with. Janelle rocks--she's hip and sweet and totally knows what she's doing with hair--she can do choppy and edgy or classic and chic. She charges 60 bucks a cut, which is pricey, but worth it.

im a fanatic about my hair and completely anal. i was going to a guy named stace with 9 fingers- if you ever run into him hes arrogant and can never admit when hes done wrong- plus hell charge you whatever he feels like and its usually 300+ on a good day. he tried to even charge me again for his mistake-
i was too scared to change dressers- bcs its really catty in the world of hair salons. but i did, alan is the bomb- janelle also does a great job but i think she moved to the big island.
if youre asian and you want platinum blond hair- go to alan.
